Top 10 Slow Songs

10. Dark on Fire by Turin Brakes - wow, I still can't listen to this song without thinking of Gossip Girl but regardless of whether you watch it or now, it's a very different song and the croakiness of the singer's voice just makes it perfect.

9. Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones - such a haunting song

8. All By Myself by Celine Dion - Bridget Jone's Diary, Clueless, and many others I'm sure, this song seems to appear in the sad scenes of all films.

7. Someone Like You by Adele - the only current chart song in here, Adele is one of the reasons I continue to listen to capital.fm. I'm so glad she's become such a success because she definately deserves it. Of all her's this one is the most touching for me, although I also love chasing pavements.

6. The Only Exception by Paramore - can't help but bring a lump to your throat

5. Feel This by Bethany Joy Galeotti - this song does speed up slightly but Bethany Joy Galeotti's voice is breathtaking so I feel I have to include it.

4. Kindly Unspoken by Kate Voegele - an outstanding song by an incredible singer. The lyrics are what captures this song for me though and so listen carefully. Absolutely beautiful.

3. I Will Be by Leona Lewis - a gorgeous ballad

2. Flightless bird, American Mouth by Iron and Wine - this song is often connected to Twilight but it is far more than a teen film soundtrack. To me it's a song about falling in love and suddenly your life makes sense and you feel good and a better person but what I love most about it, is the way the lyrics can be interpretted in any way you want and yet the song is still so beautiful.

1. Prom Theme by Fountains of Wayne - aka the prom song in Gossip Girl, this song is so melancholic and haunting that I had to place it at number one. If you want a song to remember the past to, this has to be it.
