Top 90s songs

1990 - Sit Down by James - the song to make you get up and dance, sing or whatever else makes you smile crazily. This song alone makes me wish I was a 90s teen instead of a 10s or whatever this current decade is called.

1993 - All About Soul (Remix) by Billy Joel - such a great message in this song. I love Billy Joel but this song is one of his more upbeat and so definately one of my favourites. For a romantic song with an upbeat/ rock tempo, this is the song for you.

1994 - Love is All Around by Wet Wet Wet - it had to come in somewhere. Four Weddings and a Funeral is possibly one of the most brilliant British films and this song is so closely associated with it, my mind almost goes through a play by play recap of the film whenever it comes on. It's one of those songs everyone knows it and something everyone sings along to, even if totally out of tune.

1995 - Wonderwall by Oasis - hard to listen to at first, this song ends up being one of those songs to play at top volume when you need to escape to somewhere miles away. Awesome!

1995 - Breakfast at Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something - possibly the most catchy song that doesn't annoy me. This song is light-hearted yet so far much better than the synthesised drivel of today.

1996 - Wannabe by The Spice Girls - great dance song, fab sing-a-long song, this is the song I most associate with school and friends and some of the most random things we do!

1997 - Angels by Robbie Williams - of course it was going to be put in. This song is one of those that everyone sings along to whenever it's on the radio. My favourite scene in the film Wild Child (with Emma Roberts) has the main character singing this with her friends at a party.

1998 - Mulder and Scully by Catatonia - this song is kind of random but I love it all the same!

1999 - I Want it That Way by The Backstreet Boys - cheesy but pure 90s!

So what do you think? What are your favourite retro 90s songs?

Top 10 Driving Songs

Obviously I don't mean when I'm driving (I'm 15 by the way) but when my mum's driving and we're listening to whatever music is on!
10. Kids by MGMT - ok so after the first couple of minutes, the lyrics seem to go exactly the same and I get bored but the tune and the opening are so awesome I just listen to the start again and again and again until my mum insists we change the song. It's a great, upbeat tune and you'll be humming the opening literally at THE MOST random points of the day (like when you're in a queue at the supermarket!).

9. Just Can't Get Enough by The Saturdays - this song is played so often on the radio that i think every teenager in the UK at least has to know it. The perfect song to play when zooming down a road in a convertible (I wish).

8. Ruby by Kaiser Chiefs - I remember this song coming out and my mum singing it constantly which seriously embarrassed me at the time but now I think she's actually pretty cool! Whenever this song comes on, the two us sing with the volume on full, so to me it's a great song to zoom down the motorway on.

7. So What by P!nk - fab, girly-rock song! THE song I sing with my best friends at school or on the bus! Upbeat and unusually uplifting!

6. The Theme to St. Trinians by Girls Aloud - this film came out over 3 years ago (wow, that makes me feel old!) and if you haven't seen it, is it one of the funniest, feel-good films I have ever seen! This song is one of those that you can scream from the rooftops and not die of embassment because everyone else joins in with you!

5. Sherry Darling by Bruce Springsteen - my parents used to play Springsteen constantly when I was younger (or at least in my memories they did) and I love driving along singing his music. I like his modern slow stuff but I think it's his older stuff which is perfect for a long car journey in summer, especially the awesome chorus of this song!

4. Shut up and Drive by Rihanna - just great girly pop. Something to dance to that keeps you going!

3. Sit Down by James - this is a fairly old song (well, 1989 so not that old but it's older than me) but I love it! It's one of those songs that you can almost instantaneously pick up the chorus of and then sing along to all the time. The perfect song for a road trip!

2. There She Goes by The La's - ok, god knows how many times I have put this song down but it really does fit most categories. Whenever it's a sunny day though and I'm driving along a country road and this song comes on, it just finishes the scene off perfectly, so that it's practically a movie moment!

1. Headlong by Queen - awesomely, increibly fantabulous rock song... what more can I say! The We Will Rock You version is also incredibly awesome!
